Storm is a savvy paper thriller, like an international and more sensitive version of The Firm. It follows the same trappings of a conventional case-based, check-on-the-facts structure but with an even hand and no illusion to change the sub-genre. Great performances.
A tense geopolitical and courtroom thriller that I found quite involving. The fact that director Hans-Christian Schmid didn't resort to cheap devices, such as flashbacks, to depict the crimes in Bosnia at the heart of the story made it more dependent on dialogue and less manipulative. Great performances from the two leads, interesting camera work that involves constant movement and zooms.
