Ratings & Reviews

  1. Viginti_tres's rating of the film Stray Bullets

If you had asked me whether this film was directed by a teenager or an algorithm I wouldn't have had an answer. Essentially they are the same thing. Fessenden follows a formula here, but it's a good formula and he gives it some good twists. Ultimately it's not a great film, but given his age it is a rather promising one.

  2. Nick Schwab's rating of the film Stray Bullets

Stray Bullets has faults, but for a film directed by a 16-year old-- Jack Fessenden, son of horror auteur Larry-- this crime film certainly shows promise. The younger Fessenden may need some fine-tuning in his ear for dialogue, as it isn't always natural, or does it grow the characters more than static stereotypes, but he shows fine skill in his dramatic moments that often utilize a stylistic quietness.
