remarkable piece of work, it would be good to know more about this nations history. and even better to know more about this great character and another fine performance from Min ski Choi

  4. raggiodisole's rating of the film Strokes of Fire

Proper good biography this one, like wandering around your favourite gallery, guided by your slightly less than genial host, the painter himself

  5. dmol's rating of the film Strokes of Fire

Pretty magnificent. Atmospheric settings, impressive costumes and some beautiful paintings populate the world of a rebellious mind - and a rebellious hand that few of his contemporaries could begin to grasp.

  6. Peter's rating of the film Strokes of Fire

Really enjoyed the observations about painting and the Korean history. Very few films discuss the qualities of painting in these terms.

  8. javier quintero's rating of the film Strokes of Fire

Brilliant synopsis for such an uneven film. Imo, It falls completely in the last 40 minutes, forgetting the esential thoughts, digression and its focus on the perturbed creative process that marked the first part of the film. Possibly cause of the flaw: Obsession with similarity to History.
