When it comes to family-friendly entertainment, there's little joy to be found here. Casting ranges from perfect (Laurie & Davis) to misguided (Lipnicki & Lane), the theme is intrusive, & the script stumbles as it focuses on George's acceptance & contrived parental dilemmas. Ultimately, it misses the point of the book: Stuart is treated like a human & through his adventures & personality he becomes larger than life.
Fun slice of whimsy from director Rob Minkoff that was a fair adaptation of the EB White children's novel with a script by M. Night Shyamalan (!!). Michael J. Fox was perfectly voice cast as Stuart as was Nathan Lane as Snowbell with the live actors fairing not quite as well. Perhaps more enjoyable for the kids than the adults here but not a bad family watch.
