Un poème champêtre, à l'humour et à la finesse inoubliables ..... www.cinefiches.com
Funny cute, yet Chapling definetively should have worked for Muzak.
What makes this movie stand out is the ambiguous ending.
Love it! Is this the first romantic comedy in american cinema?
A "routine" Chaplin short. Which means a lot of clever bits but without the snappier editing and attention to story of his best films.
Made two years before 'The Kid" this short certainly has some fun bits and some fanciful ones but lacks in evoking empathy. A few too many kicks in the pants.
This was the first Chaplin film I've ever seen, it's entertaining and has a lot of fun moments. I look forward to seeing more of Chaplin's work soon.
Far from his best short films but not without its moments, one of Chaplin's least creative films is somewhat a throwback to his earlier work at Essaney.
