Our take

Bubbling with creativity and sight gags, Chaplin’s rural comedy-romance (his third for First National) sees the hapless Little Tramp fighting to woo a country girl: and the chaos unfolds from there! With some delightfully playful fantasy sequences that pastiche the then-fashionable dancer Nijinsky.
