I'm not so sure I agree with that assessment of Batman, but the Fleischers did in fact render the Man of Steel more lovingly than anyone's ever cared, far as I'm concerned. Chalk it up to contemporaneity? (with his Earthly debut three years prior, I mean) though I'll give it to consistency of vision, regardless of the icon -- heartfelt and exact.
I've never much cared for Superman, I always found him this inhuman, invulnerable machine. Now a change is beginning. If Batman had his power, his oppressive totalitarianism would smother us. Superman is this perpetual dreamer who truly believes, but knows it must come about from within. How can you not be amazed and enthralled with the guy, especially when he is portrayed in such an exciting and loving fashion?
