Our take

Argento’s psychedelic giallo is a dark Gothic horror story told in exceptionally vivid colors. Its jagged visuals, moody Goblin score, disturbing screenplay (which Argento co-wrote with Daria Nicolodi), and meticulously designed, pulpy production make for that most chilling of viewing experiences.
