  2. FISCHER's rating of the film Swamp Thing

Oeuvre plutôt sympathique qui fait enfin sortir Wes Craven de l'impasse du gore... www.cinefiches.com

  3. Raymond Likes Subtitles's rating of the film Swamp Thing

The climatic fight is embarrassing but the whole thing is highly watchable.

  4. Michael Zyx MH Claes's rating of the film Swamp Thing

"Does it hurt" says the girl. "Only when I laugh" says SWAMP THING. Sadly, WRIGHTSON's cult comic character (Born July 1971 in "House of Secrets" # 92) has given birth to a laughable film.

  5. Addy K.'s rating of the film Swamp Thing

Underneath the hokey B-movie aesthetics is a surprisingly tender remake of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. The erudite Wes Craven overcame substantial budget cuts and script changes (enforced by the studio) to still deliver a horror film marked by moments of both beauty and schlocky eccentricity (Louis Jourdan hams it up as the evil villain, but always with a twinkle in his eye). A bonafide guilty pleasure. RIP, Wes.

  7. House 0f Leaves's rating of the film Swamp Thing

Wow. What a terrible movie this is on rewatch.

  8. Christopher R. Smith's rating of the film Swamp Thing

Really hokey but also pretty entertaining. It's fast paced with cartoonish characters and cheesy special effects. The plot is ridiculous and repetitive (Adrienne Barbeau runs-bad guys catch her-Swamp Thing attacks-Barbeau escapes, over and over again) and really goes off the deep end with a climax that involves a sword-wielding pig-man. Really goofy stuff, but campy fun for B-movie fans.
