Our take

Thank God Ken didn’t keep his promise of retirement: I, Daniel Blake made clear the implacable angry man still has plenty to say. Sweet Sixteen is one of Loach’s most potent works of the oughties, a raw, uncompromising coming of age that expertly reframes kitchen-sink realism.
