Though it goes beyond Rope and Compulsion in the sense of presenting Leopold & Loeb finally as they were (and out of the Hays Code tradition, so they're finally a couple who share romantic moments instead of implied scenes), Swoon doesn't get near the grandiosity of the classic fictional movies but it's a good film, brilliantly well-acted by the lead actors.
