Ten stories are woven together by their shared theme of Halloween night in an American suburb, where ghouls, imps, aliens and axe murderers appear for one night only to terrorize unsuspecting residents.

The comedy is where this anthology most shines. Mendez's is a creative and funny play on conventions, while Bousman's-- a director that I often very dislike-- has a stellar humorful punch and concept. Schifrin's is cute. Marshall's, however, is the best and screams for a full feature. The rest of them-- mainly pure horror-- are certainly stylistic-- like Parker's amazing camera work-- but are shallow in wit.
Disappointing horror anthology that doesn't seem to have any single episode, of 10, stand out. There is no wow factor with the average entry not scaring any more than your average 'Tales From the Crypt' episode. Couple of gross outs here and there but certainly won't become annual horror watch like its intentions.
I like horror anthologies, it's not a genre which entirely works to be condensed into shorter bursts, but when a film successfully coalesces ideas with image it's especially satisfying. This is a particularly colourful anthology, packed with style, humor and talent. Of course I'd rather sacrifice a few weaker shorts and expand on the smarter ones, but that's the nature of the beast.
Like other reviewers here, I think this film is BETTER when it's aiming to be funny than when it's aiming to be scary. But it's unimpressive on the whole. Some of the shorts are just plain awful, like the 'demon wife' short. The pumpkin story that closes the movie is just plain banal. If you're looking for some campy, blood-soaked fun, this movie isn't an awful way to spend an hour. As a horror flick, however...
Decent horror anthology that keeps the gore and laughs coming hard and fast. It´s a shame it did not offer up much in terms of scares but you can´t get everything I guess. Some of the segments were better than others and ten segments felt a bit too much. The movie would have benefitted from omitting some segements and expanding others. Still, it was a pretty good watch so I´m giving this 2,5 out of 5.
an anthology film is difficult to rate and review on a whole. very well directed and there are some very interesting segments. some fun and gory, some creepiness,it has the Halloween spirit. the thing is, compared to other anthology horror and Halloween anthology, it owes a lot to the exquisite Trick r Treat. not a bad film, but there's not one amazing segment to be found here. it's quite OK, but expected more.
