Ratings & Reviews

  1. Wee Hunk's rating of the film Tangerines

I saw this as being more about the problems of being a man than about war. Men fight and posture and have trouble getting along whether there's war or not. If men can stay alive past a certain age, they may get some wisdom and learn to get along. I'm joking. Men are stupid.

  2. Bonnet Michel's rating of the film Tangerines

  3. Amanda A.Costa's rating of the film Tangerines

Kinda of reminded me " No man's land " without being so interesting as the bosnian movie is. Although, the cinematography can warm your heart with such simplicity of scenario.

  4. Tiago Pinho's rating of the film Tangerines

    great movie, great photography.

  7. Superfrog's rating of the film Tangerines

On the same level as no man's land, but somewhat less striking than life is a miracle. Good photo, good characters, somewhat predictable script but kept pleasantly short. Recommended.

  8. Daniel Garcia's rating of the film Tangerines

¿Para que son las cajas? Dinamita

  9. D.J. Devereux's rating of the film Tangerines

Neutral-Definition Adjective Not taking part or giving assistance in a dispute or war between others. This film is pure transcendental humanistic cinema. The opening of the film is similar to Sergio Leone's "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly". The 2nd Act of the movie is similar to Frank Capra's "It Happened One Night" in the characters conflict & the climax without giving anything away is a Peckinpah's "Straw Dogs".

  10. ihor's rating of the film Tangerines

An Abkhazian Muslim and Georgian Christian bond over a Estonian’s stubborn persistence to foster to peace a midst a region descending into war. The reconciliation is warmbut the theme is well trodden and unfortunately little new is added. The context is of some interest with the coming chaos of post-soviet order is hinted at. The director though doesn't do enough to capture cinematically the rich setting.

  11. Edgar Echeverría's rating of the film Tangerines

  12. Stephane Tanaka's rating of the film Tangerines

A script rather thin and already seen, but always effective when it's well filmed. It is the case here. Powerful.

  13. bmelis's rating of the film Tangerines

  14. Atzin Ortiz González's rating of the film Tangerines

A simple but effective take on the effects of war. A film that has that theater feel to it.

  15. Raúl Silva Gómez's rating of the film Tangerines

  16. cinegeek.de's rating of the film Tangerines

  20. Post Ironic's rating of the film Tangerines

One of my favourite Georgian films.

  21. Arild's rating of the film Tangerines

I didn't know anything about it before i watched and loved the film. To me the main message was that the world is multicultural and has always been that way. But apart from that the landscape, colors and the lead actor carried the film brilliantly on its own.

  22. MATTEO BITTANTI's rating of the film Tangerines

In case you were wondering, no, this one is not about losangelino transsexuals.

  23. Rafael Fonseca's rating of the film Tangerines

I loved the rusty, raw rural photography and location. Loved the staging, the bread, the cheese, the tangerines, the soup. It all feels deliciously alive. And I loved the characters and how they move in the story. Unfortunately all that is damaged by a script that feels much more heavy-handed than it should be, and a finale that feels hammered. As soon as a film labels itself as pro-war or anti-war,it loses subtlety.

  24. saitosouta's rating of the film Tangerines

No Man's Land in tangerine orchard. Not as Estonian, as Chechen, as Georgian, as Muslim, as Christian.....But as a Human. Tranquil atmosphere, heart-felt humanity, good anti-war film.
