Our take

An intimately-scaled look at the Abkhaz-Georgian conflict which erupted amid the collapse of the Soviet Union, this Estonian Oscar® nominee is a treatise on the collateral damage suffered by rural communities. Beautifully shot, Tangerines deftly negotiates the boundaries of trauma and compassion.
