I'm not sure if it's the result of the Turtles being relatively humanoid-shaped and therefore easier to follow onscreen, or the target demographic for this movie being too young to process the typical cacophony of summer blockbusters, but, without much muss or fuss, these recent "Ninja Turtles" movies have featured some of the most coherent and outrageously-staged Hollywood action sequences of the last three years.
3 stars because it had bebop, rocksteady, krang, the technodrome, and casey jones... but wtf casey jones was a cop? one of the worst character changes ever. he wants to make a difference in the city and get rid of evil? sure. he's a vigilante! not a cop! terrible choice
I enjoyed the first movie despite its problems and short comings so it was fun to see that the film makers got it right this time. Everything works better across the board and while it is sillier than the first one this movie feels closer to the source material. I watched it with my 7 year old son and we had a blast with it which feels like a sure sign of approval.
You know, this turtles are my childhood heroes and it's beautiful to see them in a movie that made for older people (or I'm lying to myself). Anyway, I love them to see them on white screen. It was fun. Full of pointless action scenes but what can we except from a movie like this. Just try to enjoy and go on. :)
