Infuriating documentary, where the documentarian makes the film more about himself, then his genius father, who much (all?) the audience is actually watching this film for. What could be an interesting complicated relationship between father and son, quickly turns into 95 minutes of desperation for recognition from a bitter son, who even if justified, you've long lost your empathy for.
3 1/2. Very person doc on a complicated father/son relationship. Maybe too raw in places but it's definitely worth watching because it's not the typical puff piece on a famous Hollywood figure and you still get enough interesting the Hollywood anecdotes for those merely seeking that sort of thing.
