Takes place in San Francisco of 1985, in the early days of the AIDS epidemic. A now forgotten part of history, it was a time when little was known but much was whispered about the virus: Can someone get it from sweat or food? Should gays be quarantined?

Excellent American indie that revisits 1985 San Francisco and tells the tale of an aspiring dancer who like his peers is fearful of the AIDS virus, the new test that reveals it and the potential impact on one's sex life and status of 'coming out'. The fear of coming out by dying, ala Rock Hudson, was a prevalent one at the time. Soundtrack is great as is the lead turns by Marlowe and Risch. An unsung gem.
3.5 ~ Interesting look at San Francisco in 1985 just as HIV/AIDS was becoming known to the general public. Some great scenes in this. Well acted anxiety and fear about overall life in general. You can feel the character's fear about living in the world with this disease. Well done. Realistic. You get the sense that you are watching real people here, and not actors.
