This film is an absolute mess. There's no focus, no plot-line and it's very hard to get anything out of the muck that surrounds it. The performances are over-dramatic, the dialogue too expositional, and the minor characters come and go as they please. Obviously Estevez put this into motion, but I really wish he hadn't.
Just after Repo Man and just before The Breakfast Club, the word middling was perhaps never more appropriate. Emilio talking as the rain crawled down the window reflected on the face looked better than it did on Robert Blake in In Cold Blood: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVDxfDNq2VU
