Ratings & Reviews

  1. AugusteB's rating of the film The 120 Days of Bottrop

    Genius. Liberating. Funny.

  2. Vi's rating of the film The 120 Days of Bottrop

    Sehr lustig und sehr traurig.

  3. riraru's rating of the film The 120 Days of Bottrop

Die groteskeste Groteske, die ich bisher sah und der beste Schlingensief. Wie ich Irm und Margit liebe! Saß allein in dunkler Kammer und mußte unentwegt auflachen.

  4. Alan Flores-Lopez's rating of the film The 120 Days of Bottrop

I wish I knew more about the stuff being satirized here.

  5. Ascribes Madame Tiaras's rating of the film The 120 Days of Bottrop

I wouldn't have wanted to watch this without having been introduced to the world of Fassbinder and New German Cinema. Provides some warm-and-fuzzies to see Fassbinder's crew. Definitely a comedy that makes a mockery, but not sure if I taste some sardonicism here...

  6. Weston Campbell's rating of the film The 120 Days of Bottrop

A loving tribute to Fassbinder and the mania of uncompromising filmmaking.

  7. Mark's rating of the film The 120 Days of Bottrop

Very funny for awhile if you've seen enough Fassbinder films to get all the references. It can't keep the big laughs going, but it's a modestly-amusing film from a kamikaze filmmaker.

  8. Stefan Drees's rating of the film The 120 Days of Bottrop

This is - like other works of Schlingensief - definitely not everybody’s movie. But I find it provoking and fancy its self-deprecating character, its use of pre-existing music and its many references to pictorial representation, literature and (cultural as well as political) history … Finally Helge Schneiders’s original score is superb.
