he most embarrassing with most viking movies for me is that there is so few of them made in Scandinavia even if there is a lot of potential and good stories around. This film has potential but was sadly edited to death and reshot so it is hard to say if the beginning was meant to be so weak. After that the film becomes better and better an a good violent adventure, but it could be too late for many at that point.
The good? Fantastic set pieces, huge action scenes, barbaric costumes, and an overall haunting atmosphere in the misty mountains. The bad? A central Arab character with a Spanish accent, messy storytelling, and a slow-moving first act. Was a good bit of fun, but had the potential to be so much better. Definitely an evolution of the same concept as Predator - an outsider fighting an outsider in a foreign arena.
