Ratings & Reviews

  1. josé neves's rating of the film The Baker's Wife

Digital restoration. Contextual irritations: when a character claims that "the Chinese and the blacks" are indistinguishable, it's a phrase from an European period not oriented to a democratic language. But what matters is this filmmaker's immense art of staging words: see the scene in which Maillefer (huge Édouard Delmont) narrates, between mishaps, the way he discovered the pair of wandering lovers -(c)orality.

  2. hubertguillaud's rating of the film The Baker's Wife

Toujours fascinant.

  3. Howard Fritzson's rating of the film The Baker's Wife

This is the correct photo. That is Ginette Leclerc as the wife. Raimu gives a performance that is unrivaled. I remember watching it for the first time and being absolutely overcome with so many emotions including delight. He has never been matched.

  4. Tigrão's rating of the film The Baker's Wife

    PLEASE, CHANGE THE PICTURE.
