Daniel S.'s rating of the film The Barretts of Wimpole Street

Yes, it's certainly theatrical at times because Sidney Franklin was no more than a good technician but, nonetheless, the film stays in your memory because of Norma Shearer (bearable here), Maureen O'Sullivan (good actress), Fredric March (classy) and above all Charles Laughton (great). Oh and I loved Una O'Connor (she walks as if she were playing in a Dracula movie!). Highly recommended!
