Ratings & Reviews

  1. David Sindmark Hörnfeldt's rating of the film The Black Beach

Slow and boring can be done correctly. This is how. Reminded me a bit of Hana-Bi.

  2. Lothegoat's rating of the film The Black Beach

Should appeal to those with a soft spot for Kafka

  3. dionysus67's rating of the film The Black Beach

That this film requires patience is beyond doubt. Piccoli should have accelerated the unfolding of events a bit, yet this political drama is exquisite in terms of the bleak interiors and the stunning cinematography. The elliptical and slow-burning dialogue is sometimes a vitue others a vice, overall, though the venture is a great tribute to the 60s-70s art film and is politically resonant and relevant.

  4. captainfez's rating of the film The Black Beach

    Paperwork: a sleepy portrait.

  5. Stefan Drees's rating of the film The Black Beach

The interesting topic relating to the personal consequences and emotional results of resistance and emigration is subject to a somewhat dry filmic realization. Nonetheless it's worth watching, if you are patient enough.
