  2. mjgildea's rating of the film The Black Sleep

A Frankensteinesque premise with a superb cast. The story wasn't that great but it felt like a Universal monster movie reunion during the final 15 minutes. Not amazing but a definite gem for fans of Universal horror or Hammer films.

  3. Robert Karol's rating of the film The Black Sleep

An underrated fore-runner to the Hammer horror film tradition of the neo-gothic. While it gets off to a slow start, this film has a fascinating premise and a few nasty tricks up its sleeve. Featuring a complex and layered performance by Basil Rathbone and a wonderful turn from Akim Tamiroff as a "comic relief" Gypsy who is really a sociopath, any lover of classic horror should check this out!
