Ratings & Reviews

  1. FISCHER's rating of the film The Boston Strangler

Sur un scénario adapté d'un fait divers authentique, Fleischer mène une superbe enquête quasi documentaire, sur un cas sanglant des annales du crime... www.cinefiches.com

  2. Michael Zyx MH Claes's rating of the film The Boston Strangler

where Tony CURTIS plays the bad guy

  3. Scout Tafoya's rating of the film The Boston Strangler

Am I wrong in thinking this is Fleischer's best and most appropriately stylish film?

  4. Howard Orr's rating of the film The Boston Strangler

Although well done, the rather flashy split-screen approach seems a bit incongrous given the grim subject matter. However, the strong last half hour gets it right by focusing on character, bringing Curtis's performance centre stage, and employing a more appropriate -but still inventive- visual style.

  5. Shayan Bazri's rating of the film The Boston Strangler

    Strong stylish movie,masterpiece.

  6. Andre Rehal's rating of the film The Boston Strangler

A precursor to all of the procedural crime shows on television. I enjoyed the use of split screen which gave the movie a cool visual style but there was little in the way of character development.

  7. Jaspar Lamar Crabb's rating of the film The Boston Strangler

Not nearly as good as Tony Curtis seems to think both he and the film are

  8. Franklinton Underground Cinema's rating of the film The Boston Strangler

Maybe not factual nor appropriately clinical (regarding Mental Illness), but certainly a strong symbol of both the resistance and potential indulgence of evil in every human being.

  9. Pierluigi Puccini's rating of the film The Boston Strangler

The good: Tony Curtis as Albert De Salvo. The bad: overuse of split screen technique

  10. Edward Copeland's rating of the film The Boston Strangler

A time capsule item of a crime procedural involving the search for a notorious serial killer the shows its influence on other TV shows and movies to come. http://eddieonfilm.blogspot.com/2009/10/60s-film-search-for-serial-killer.html

  11. chanandre's rating of the film The Boston Strangler

    [Cinémathèque PT #541: 35 mm] (2007)

  12. Christopher R. Smith's rating of the film The Boston Strangler

True crime classic works as both a police procedural and demented psycho-drama. Some innovative film techniques - including split screen - perfectly serve the amazing story. Tony Curtis is excellent, as is the rest of the cast.
