Our take

Looks like Nietzsche got it wrong. God’s not dead, he’s killing time in a squalid flat in Brussels. From this delightful premise, Belgian director Jaco van Dormael (Mr Nobody) takes us on a whirlwind tour of surreal, satirical, and blasphemous scenarios—wait, is that Catherine Deneuve and a gorilla?
