Not very bad, but not very good. Montgomery makes for a good Marlowe when he's being glib and saucy, but doesn't make for a credible tough guy or a very skilled detective. Saw this at Cinecon 47 with Conrad Janis in attendance--pretty cool.
**1/2 Average film Noir. A disappointment considering the big time people who worked on it: John Brahm directed and Raymond Chandler signed the screenplay.
