Melissa Rauch gives a great caustic performance in a mediocre film. Filmmakers couldn't decide whether they wanted to make a raunchy 'Bad Santa' knockoff or something with a little weight looking at the expiry of fame and respect. Some memorable lines here and there but the overall pic falls pretty flat. 'clit jizz' indeed
While the romance between Hope and Twitchy is forced, this is a consistently hilarious film about nostalgia, remaining relevant, and trying to maintain whatever relevance you have left. Melissa Rauch comes with her guns blazing and positions herself alongside Tina Fey and Greta Gerwig for being a master at comedic timing. Not sure if I'm in awe or in love with her. Time will tell.
Thoroughly unenjoyable, repetitive, and boring! "Bad Gymnast" is rotten, ugly, and only mildly entertaining. There are several moments that work well, so it gets two stars. The rest is a flat, D effort on all fronts. A prime example of a film that get into Sundance (opening night no less) because of the people who made it, not due to quality or merit of the picture. Very disappointing and underwhelming on all levels.
