Ratings & Reviews

  1. Francisco Ortega's rating of the film The Burn

Es una manera muy realista de retratar un tema que suele ser carne de programa de televisión.

  2. captainfez's rating of the film The Burn

The swimming lesson was an adequate representation of my comfort level throughout.

  3. DrFirestone's rating of the film The Burn

Because of the indirect way of dealing with the topic, the audience from outside of Chile and South America is most likely going to miss most of it. It seems to appeal to the memories and coming to terms with what happened, what people did to each other, and then - forgetting or forgiving? Also, while this is a personal, intimate story of a family and whole nation, it's conveyed in a very reserved and distant way...

  4. Bonnet Michel's rating of the film The Burn

  5. Nabil Hamzaki's rating of the film The Burn

"The more I look at these photos, the more faint they become with the light."

  6. Cosma's rating of the film The Burn

A painful depiction of the inadequacy of being humans. Memories burn. Desires burn. Your own flesh burns. The very concept of being is burning...//Un doloroso ritratto dell'inadeguatezza di essere umani. Memorie che bruciano. Desideri che bruciano. La tua propria pelle brucia. Il concetto stesso di esistenza sta bruciando...

  7. nica's rating of the film The Burn

Though visually could have been so much better, the exploration of the micro and how it relates to the macro around the middle of this film was great to watch. I did find myself invested in these humans towards the end as well, and would really want to know more about the mother's side.

  8. guillermo's rating of the film The Burn

Documentary about the militar dictatorship in Chile. Interesting: this film could be about several other countries in Latinamerica. The effect of dictatorship on memory, identity, and dignity is well developed in The Burn. Two links. One is Roberto Bolaño, all his books are variations of the experiencie of dictatorship. The other, the case of Argentina. Centro Editor de América Latina might be a stronger version.

  9. yaxpac's rating of the film The Burn

Un film lleno de nostalgia donde la búsqueda de nosotros se encuentra en otras personas. Como latino fui de los que también vivió, creció y aprendió gracias a su abuela.

  10. Sergey Belov's rating of the film The Burn

cute family story which in fact is a bit more than just a personal

  11. Korial's rating of the film The Burn

The amateurial direction, despite the emotive potential of the story, is only able to convey a rather sterile and inorganic experience of it.

  12. LibertyCapz's rating of the film The Burn

A young Chilean filmmaker and his sister are attempting to come to terms with, or rather conclude, the "phantom limb-like" relationship they've developed with/without their long lost mother, who left them 26 years prior.

  13. BUTTAUD's rating of the film The Burn

Un film d'une grande sobriété, simple et magnifique. Un film sans effet qui fait du bien.

  14. Duque's rating of the film The Burn
