Very enjoyable satire of male opportunistic, clumsy chase of feminity, a chase that revels in male insecurity, philistinism, pure joy for the flirtatious game, culminating in an unexpectedly stunning inversion of male illusions (and desires) about gender roles and femininity in particular. Charrier and Azanvour are a delight and although if you dig deeper it may disintegrate it is nonetheless bitterly funny.
First official Jean-Pierre Mocky movie. Aznavour and Charrier are looking for a girl in Paris by night. They'll be part of the usual waltz between chasers and willing feminine victims of a normal saturday night. If Aznavour is searching for the woman to marry, Jacques Charrier aspires to the ideal woman. Highly recommended.
