Ratings & Reviews

  1. Nick Schwab's rating of the film The Child

The Child is akin to a proto, Americanized mid-period Fulci film; it being atmospheric and at times as artistically stylistic in its shot composition as that director's films, but often fully engorged in silliness within its horror setpieces, lacking that master's genuine unhinged creepiness. Fulci's dreadful audio sync adds to his surreal tone, giving his films a nightmare quality. Here it's more a silly hindrance.
