Ratings & Reviews

  1. SpacePirate's rating of the film The China Syndrome

An incredible thriller, and a poignant film in two ways: showing corporate greed at the risk of injuring thousands, and how our news media is so manipulated. The latter was done better in Network, but is brought back into light here. Fonda slips into her role seamlessly and Lemmon as always is in top form, and here turns in one of the defining performances of his career. Douglas produced a classic. 5 stars. Essential

  2. Thomas's rating of the film The China Syndrome

  3. Aardsy's rating of the film The China Syndrome

Every home should have a tortoise.

  4. Cinema Omnivore's rating of the film The China Syndrome

  5. Henrique Amud's rating of the film The China Syndrome

Remarkable turns by Fonda and Lemon (Douglas' part was not particulary meaty) on a very tense film. Loved the thrilling build up to a very poignant last 15 minutes.

  6. Jaspar Lamar Crabb's rating of the film The China Syndrome

As tightly wound a thriller as there is. Bridges best work and some spectacular acting by Michael Douglas, Jane Fonda, and especially Jack Lemmon.

  7. Colton Bose's rating of the film The China Syndrome

The final shot takes what what would have been a decently constructed thriller and gives it a rather profound conclusion.

  8. Mayukh Sen's rating of the film The China Syndrome

should be taken more seriously. fonda and lemmon have a way of slipping into their roles so well that what could’ve been melodramatic or absurdly sensationalist becomes believable, and even a bit moving. flawed but incredible.
