Ratings & Reviews

  1. Richmond Hill's rating of the film The Confessional

Enjoyable genre nonsense from Walker with a typical inverted ending but somewhat muted with a few missed opportunities for high church desecration, if not anti-clericism, along the way. By this point Walker had either settled down in a tawdry dotage or the wider genre had risen somewhat to his disreputable bait - as with most things probably a bit of both - so a sense of formula is present.

  2. Joshua's rating of the film The Confessional

Next to Frightmare, this ranks as Pete Walker's most effective film, though it doesn't start off that way. For a while I was ho-humming, but now I hear the cult beats drumming. 4/5
