A 40 years old man, Alfonso, finally succeeds to marry a virgin, educate, beautiful and very catholic woman. But soon she, Regina, starts stressing him because she wants to be pregnant. When the stress is at its peak Regina at last gets pregnant.

It would be odd if Ferreri's farces didn't include 'catholicism' in their targets With this one he even got censor cuts in turn. It shows Regina (Vlady) not exactly as tiny as a bee ('ape'), and poor Alfonso (Tognazzi) who marries her a virgin but soon warns her: 'You're going to give me a heart attack!' (I could empathize and it's not even the first time I felt that way about an actress of the 60's, to be honest!)
