Ratings & Reviews

  1. Stu Witmer's rating of the film The Damned Don't Cry

Kent Smith's finest hour. He actually gets to play a character with some depth. The pivotal motivating scene is stupendous not the least because of the perfectly lighted close-ups. Joan's face in this scene is absolutely iconic. Alas, the musical score sounds cribbed Max Steiner's waste basket and the story, at its best merely standard Hollywood, is perfectly summed up in the last two lines.

  2. Marcelo Pereira's rating of the film The Damned Don't Cry

Don't you just hate it when some movie intends to be serious but ends up being profoundly foolish and silly? Well, if you do, don't ever watch this. It's impressive how they managed to ruin the whole plot in five minutes.

  3. Owen Sound's rating of the film The Damned Don't Cry

Joan Crawford's performance is the equivalent of a greatest hits album

  4. Daniel S.'s rating of the film The Damned Don't Cry

Highly recommended. Film Noir that forecasts the Godfather saga. Loosely based on Bugsy Siegel's love story with Virginia Hill. With Joan Crawford and Tim Robbins's look-alike, David Brian.
