Ratings & Reviews

  1. Peter Walsh's rating of the film The Dark Half

At times riveting, unnerving in the best King/Romero fashion, at other times it just nudges over into farce. Overall feeling also dampened by a blunt ending which does the film little justice.

  2. Addy K.'s rating of the film The Dark Half

THE DARK HALF is schizophrenic: when it's good, it's really really good. Pity that Stephen King's source material (hero is a novelist AND a teacher!) is unusually limited. So Romero instead targets Tim Hutton's George Stark whose feral machismo is both scary and fun to watch! Hitchcockian set pieces and body horror are nicely done. A potentially great idea about sparrows leads to a cliché ending. Fascinating failure.

  5. POURAZAR's rating of the film The Dark Half

An american horror tale: the athor becomes insane

  6. Tigrão's rating of the film The Dark Half

A fine Stephen King adaptation with a pretty good direction from Romero. It's like a modern retelling of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, crossed with Frankenstein, and Hitchcock's The Birds. Really enjoyed it.

  7. agostinellips's rating of the film The Dark Half

Please tell me what kind of drug Romero used on the twin babies!

  8. Christopher R. Smith's rating of the film The Dark Half

Serviceable adaptation of a serviceable Stephen King story. Strong performances from Hutton, Madigan, and Rooker, and a few cool sequences. It's not the best from Romero or King - but it's solid entertainment for horror fans.
