Roland Emmerich do one of his numerous "end of the world" stories - as a reborn Irwin Allen with a better budget, but not necessarily with a better script. I like that Dennis Quaid get to do a big-budgeted Hollywood movie for a change, but sadly it is in this film.
This one is aging so well, specially because it settled the standard for all catastrophe films that came afterwards. And none has had as much punch or cleverness in the use of special effects nor a more clever use of a simple but humane narrative arc. Super dull in the super dull films arena. But super, nonetheless.
I love this film because i love meteorlogy and climate ,so i love tornadoes and hurricanes and this film shows how powerful mothernature can do to us . Of course my favourite part of the film is the tornado scenes. It's the only film apart from Twister that makes me dream of being a storm chaser :P
"I've never seen the air so clear." Bahahahaha! I'm giving this an extra star because I was thoroughly entertained in its stupidity. Lifeless and brain-dead characters abound in this global warming propaganda. I don't deny global warming exists though. I'm simply denying this uh, er, film. Wait, correction: movie.
