Ratings & Reviews

  1. Thomas Dods's rating of the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

Keanu Reeves is pretty good at playing a robot. Unfortunately this film is as dull as the performance and just as forgettable.

  2. lostlevel's rating of the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

  3. Mtume Gant's rating of the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

Sorry remake of a legit classic

  4. bryanvmh's rating of the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

  5. James Mackin's rating of the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

Keanu Reeves was well cast. That's really the only positive I can think of here.

  6. Sinziana Medvetchi's rating of the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

  7. SiIencio's rating of the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

Scott Derrickson, specialist in delivering forgettable pieces, will have the dubious honour of competing for worst director ever with this his often voted one of the worst remakes ever made. Keanu Reeves is oddly amusing as the robotic alien (it comes natural to him) delivering the Green Commandments with a vengeance and so fake at telling us he loves the human race. Derrickson, really, have you considered fishing?

  8. Brian O'blivion's rating of the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

It's always polite for filmmakers to explain everything to you so that you wouldn't have to go through any thought process of your own.

  9. MAO1's rating of the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

  10. rado's rating of the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

Bullshit. Shinkansen would never break down.

  11. doublelife91's rating of the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

The one role Keanu Reeves was born to play (an emotionless alien) and he screws it up. Go figure.

  12. Amandio Filipe Moura's rating of the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

  13. Hunter Duesing's rating of the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

Graded on the "how dare you remake this classic" curve by blind genre goons. Scott Derrickson put together a proper modern exploration of the same tale, and it was unfairly maligned simply for existing. Moving dramatic moments, fun effects updates, and excellent casting decisions make for an excellent retelling of a classic.

  14. Rafael Marques's rating of the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

The first and only film that made me leave the theatre before the ending.

  15. spinninglovestory's rating of the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

Was forced to sit through this for like a third time yesterday. It's just so bad. The original is so much better and enjoyable. The only good thing is that you get to look at Jennifer Connelly for a good deal of the film.

  16. runfromfire's rating of the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

"Klaatu farada haatu flikto," which means "Klaatu fucking hated this movie."

  17. Christopher R. Smith's rating of the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

As expected, a lifeless mega-budget dud. The expensive special effects and slick visuals only underline how bland and completely devoid of any drama or tension the predictable plot is, and it takes itself way too seriously with its hokey environmentalist message. A talented cast sleepwalks through their roles - though Keanu Reeves seems right at home in the blundering spectacle. Pointless and instantly forgettable.

  18. Seth Farmer's rating of the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

Imagine my surprise when bits of Michael Crichton's "Prey" showed up.

  19. NEONBEAR's rating of the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

probably my vote for the biggest hollywood piece of shit made in the last decade.

  20. Coheed 2.5's rating of the film The Day the Earth Stood Still

Well, there was one good thing to come from this; after seeing this, I immediately rushed out to find the original 1950s film. This deserves its single point just for that.
