Ratings & Reviews

  1. Ethan's rating of the film The Death of "Superman Lives": What Happened?

Even though this film can be slow in parts it is still a very engaging documentary that fascinates you at the possibilities of what Superman Lives could have been. It almost saddens me that this was never made.

  2. HKFanatic's rating of the film The Death of "Superman Lives": What Happened?

Possibly the most entertaining of these 'what could have been'-style movie documentaries, in part because of the sheer wealth of concept art available to the filmmakers, but also the developing suspicion that Tim Burton and Nicolas Cage are both so odd and, well, alien in much the same way that, even if they had made a terrible "Superman" together, they could have been an ideal pairing of actor and auteur.

  3. Henrique Amud's rating of the film The Death of "Superman Lives": What Happened?

While I don't really care much for Superman and was somewhat interested in knowing what a pre-burnout Tim Burton was in fact cooking, the two most interesting aspects of the film was showing the different stages of developing a blockbuster and showing how much crazier and dumber hollywood can get at any given time. Also, kudos to Schnepp for being the rare on camera interviewer that really adds something.

  4. Ryuu Baron's rating of the film The Death of "Superman Lives": What Happened?
