Lovely doc about a Soviet curator who built a museum of banned art in Uzbekistan under Stalin's nose. Feels a bit PBS-y, and ends abruptly, but it's a fascinating story about the triumph of art over censorship.
This is the incredible true story of Igor Savitsky,an artist and art collector. Who during the era of the Soviet Union, saved over 40 thousand works of "forbidden art". With the help of local Uzbekistani po!itians,Savitsky was able to store the mostly avant-garde works of art, in a specially built museum, far from the disapproving eyes of the Soviet authorities in Moscow. These works are now worth millions.
A MUST SEE !
