3&1/2 stars. A lovely romance along the seaside at Puri and within the ancient Jagannath temples, the Sun God temple at Karnak and the temple city of Bhubaneshwar. The story is light as befits pilgrims meeting and interacting, with some tender and understated individual scenes.
On packed train from Calcutta to the seaside a young man, with only small sack with which he intends to roam around India for awhile, meets five sisters - the four eldest widows, the youngest a pretty young woman stricken with a mysterious sorrow. Along the beach and through ancient ruins they all go a-roaming. She starts to forget the fiance who spurned her. A fine, pretty film.
