Ratings & Reviews

  1. Enrico Gaudenzi's rating of the film The Dirty Dozen

Inizio folgorante, buona la parte dell'addestramento, gli effetti speciali datati e il ritmo dell'ultima parte lo declassano a "buon film"

  2. aliasgenius's rating of the film The Dirty Dozen

A little difficult to get into in the beginning, but the second half is quite something. 4/5

  3. Johnny Seeker's rating of the film The Dirty Dozen

Mother F'ing Charlie Bronson! Illusions of Auschwitz!

  4. smndvdcl's rating of the film The Dirty Dozen

A testosterone-fuelled sausage fest of reprobates sent on a devil-may-care assault on WWII Nazi extremists. Its anti-establishment message blends with a pro-war blend of patriotism. We, the audience, placate this group of anarchic anti-heroes because of the heroism of their war mission. There's something problematic about this, much like the alpha male machismo films of John Wayne and Clint Eastwood.

  5. DenoResandono's rating of the film The Dirty Dozen

Robert Aldrich's The Dirty Dozen is exciting, thrilling, explosive, and full of spectacular action sequences. Supported by talented A-list actors. Lee Marvin looks cool as the leader of twelve soldiers. But, John Cassavetes is the scene stealer in this movie. He's a psychotic soldier. I must admit that he's a loveable bastard. Sadly he didn't win Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. I feel the training scene is too long.

  6. Bryan Hickman's rating of the film The Dirty Dozen

  7. Aardsy's rating of the film The Dirty Dozen

    Killing Nazis is always fun.

  8. James Mackin's rating of the film The Dirty Dozen

A fun WWII movie with a lot of great actors - Donald Sutherland, Lee Marvin, John Cassavetes, Charles Bronson, Telly Savalas, etc.

  9. J.J. 'Jake' Gittes's rating of the film The Dirty Dozen

One of Aldrich's finest: bizarre, bloody, sadistically, violent, action-packed but also -at times- comedic, psychologically & extremely entertaining movie. A group of grotesque soldier-sociopaths-criminals who are released from the military-jail in order to kill Nazis in a suicide-mission. Excellent performances from an outstanding cast. Countless times copied; this is the original & ultimate one. Masterpiece.

  10. Daniel S.'s rating of the film The Dirty Dozen

Belongs to the Aldrich 'no women' trilogy with 'The Flight of the Phoenix' and 'Too Late the Hero'. Savalas, Sutherland and Cassavetes are more psychopaths than killers and Borgnine and Kennedy are in charge of cooling down the tension. Recommended.

  11. Eugene Kotlyarenko's rating of the film The Dirty Dozen

pretty entertaining some good lines and characterizations suffers from this confused period in american cinema where performers couldn't figure out how to be "real" also is so weirdly bloated in the 2/3rds

  12. Federico Di Folco's rating of the film The Dirty Dozen

Grandissimo Aldrich.

  13. Dominic Simard-Jean's rating of the film The Dirty Dozen

Of course Charles Bronson makes it at the end.

  14. msmichel's rating of the film The Dirty Dozen

This anti-hero, fk the establishment, exercise in machismo certainly has its legion of fans. A group of military convicts is recruited to massacre a German officer's retreat and are considered extremely expendable. One is meant to identify with these murderers and rapists but their final act of barbarism leaves a bad taste. Cassavetes and Marvin are very good here and rest of cast play their archetypes well.

  15. Easton Dubois's rating of the film The Dirty Dozen

That's what you get eating out the Dunkin Donuts dumpster

  16. mjgildea's rating of the film The Dirty Dozen

More like 3 1/2 out of 5 stars. The Dirty Dozen is like the messed up and less spacey brother of Kelly's Heroes. The Dirty Dozen was definitely entertaining but the 3rd act where they actually go on their mission had a darker tone than the rest of the movie. Beyond that and a couple other minor complaints it was a fun watch with a great cast.

  17. codyhunter's rating of the film The Dirty Dozen

  21. Pierluigi Puccini's rating of the film The Dirty Dozen

A blast of a film. one of the best second world war action epics, among Robert Aldrich's best, and one of the best casts ever "recruited" in motion picture history.
