Ratings & Reviews

  1. MS1915's rating of the film The Drum

This is the third of the three British Imperialist films I've seen by Korda. I thought that the characters were very underdeveloped and the film spends less time entertaining and informing and more time advertising. Then again, isn't that what it was for?

  2. AKFilmFan's rating of the film The Drum

With a villain whose goal isn't quite evil in hindsight, an adequate but unfocused narrative, and Sabu small but substantial performance this is a mildly satisfactory adventure.

  3. Stu Witmer's rating of the film The Drum

Cracker-jack, Boy's Own technicolor hokum concerning British imperialism in the subcontinent. Lovingly restored with excellent locations, sturdy sets and a fine cast from the Korda stable. No one... no one, makes a better villain than Raymond Massey!

  4. Cineclectic's rating of the film The Drum

An early Sabu delivers a groundbreaking performance in this underrated Korda adventure. Goes great with The Four Feathers.
