It seems to fit within Imamura's oeuvre but lacks the sort of punch that is expected. I do appreciate its quirkiness, and the relationship between the leads.

  6. RoRoRoro's rating of the film The Eel

  7. Ligia Prodan's rating of the film The Eel

.5, but it was maybe the most watchable film of Imamura.

  9. Francisco R.'s rating of the film The Eel

Probably the best film I saw all year. Amazing.

  10. Samuel Donath's rating of the film The Eel

This won the Palme d'Or?? It's not bad, but the Palme d'Or? Really?

  11. Lynch/Fellini's rating of the film The Eel

The opening sequence was phenomenal and in its own right works on its own as a short, albeit very short, feature. The rest of the film is bland in comparison. Although the relationship between the man and his eel was interesting. This film is a mixed bag for me!

  13. jimmymarkum's rating of the film The Eel

The gentle parable of a former commuter, who by the end of it says literally: 'Those who are born should be cared for, right?' eventually seeming to find a goal in his life, a goal that previous events lead him to stop caring about
