What are people saying?

  • Daniel S.'s rating of the film The Emperor in August

***1/2. The kind of movie you don't see by accident. You really have to be interested in history, in Japan history, or more specifically in Japan history during WWII if you've stopped here at this peculiar MUBI page. The film tells us what happened in Japan between the explosion of the Nagasaki atomic bomb and the final Japanese surrender. If you're curious, the film will not disappoint you. A very good surprise.
