    The necessity to narrate twice the parable of the well is somehow a reflex of this film's structural failure: the images may speak for themselves (they are, as documentaries should, full of reality) but they don't speak with one another. The contrast between tradition and modernity is never fully expressed. The middle part of the film follows a single character and fails: Keuken is an artist of fragments and details.
