Ratings & Reviews

  1. εξώτερο Διάστημα's rating of the film The Fear

A film without introduction, a stunner from the very start.

  2. José Neves's rating of the film The Fear

How to explain such a surprise? How to explain the bloodstream that takes a movie from an unhealthy pantheism, where nature is in line with a latent human violence, to the final modernist explosion where, similar to Glauber Rocha, the choreography of the bodies is simultaneously the explosion of a formality and the immanence of a tragedy? Who is this filmmaker who made a film so unique and so genealogically Greek?

  3. Samuel T.'s rating of the film The Fear

A hidden gem of Greek cinema. With an utterly eerie score by Yannis Markopoulos that creates constant tension, we witness, along with a number of farm animals who also sometimes look back at us as if innocent observers, a family slowly self-destruct via a heinous crime. Stunning cinematography by Nikos Gardelis. Highly recommended. Also, don't read any synopsis as every one I've found is one big heap of a spoiler.
