Richmond Hill's rating of the film The Full Monty

Gummy social conscience within a Loachian locale if somewhat less earnest in tone but with an almost enervating false optimism (at least of the longer term if not the moment, but such is life I suppose). It achieves it's limited aims with decent-hearted aplomb, despite a diminishing view of masculinity and the role of man in society, otherwise predictable in most respects (although that last is commonplace now).
