  4. SpacePirate's rating of the film The Gay Divorcee

Great Astaire-Rogers. Great supporting character actors found here, including the always witty Benchley and the perpetually nervous Horton. The actress who plays Rogers aunt, whose name escapes me, also is great at the seemingly Alzheimers ridden relative. This one later basically remade as Top Hat with very slight alterations to the plot. The same mistaken identity angle is there. 4.5 stars. Great songs and dances

  5. Anastasia's rating of the film The Gay Divorcee

    - She's music. She's the buzzing of the bees in clover. She's the rustle of the leaves in the trees. She's water lapping on the shore. - She sounds like a series of strange noises to me.

  12. kndy's rating of the film The Gay Divorcee

The first major pairing of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers in this screwball, musical comedy about a man named Guy Rogers who falls head over heels with a woman named Mimi who is planning to get a divorce. Through circumstances, the two must stay the night together as prisoner in a hotel room. Absolutely fun, entertaining and of course, beautiful dancing. A must see film for anyone interested in Astaire/Rogers!
