  1. Samuel Andrade's rating of the film The Ghost Story of Yotsuya

  2. Karthik's rating of the film The Ghost Story of Yotsuya

The pacing being so taut, the 'firstlings of the heart' rushing headlong on to the 'firstlings of the hand', the film gains a sort of poetic density paradoxically from its narrative gauntness: one is reminded of Macbeth and the mechanical unrolling of the 'future in the instant'...

  3. Ostermyers's rating of the film The Ghost Story of Yotsuya

  4. Wasunan T's rating of the film The Ghost Story of Yotsuya

  5. pvt joker's rating of the film The Ghost Story of Yotsuya

This is more than a j-horror, "Ghost Story of Yotsuya" is distinguished by the excellent work of Shigeru Amachi in the lead role, which creates a complex character, a victim of circumstances, and their own weaknesses, which never seems control their own destiny, and attempts to change it and they are promptly charged and ruthless.

  6. Christopher R. Smith's rating of the film The Ghost Story of Yotsuya

It may start out like a fairly conventional Japanese melodrama, but as the story gets darker and the horror elements kick in, it deliriously goes over the edge. Director Nobuo Nakagawa infuses what could be a familiar story with great style and atmosphere, cementing his reputation as a pioneer of the horror genre. A classic.

  7. Jared's rating of the film The Ghost Story of Yotsuya

I believe this is actually the version directed by Nobuo Nakagawa not Nobuo Koyama.
